Kindergarten Classroom Teacher
CLASSROOM TEACHER POSITION DESCRIPTION
Pay Scale: $45,000-$70,000 + added pay opportunities
Contracted Work Day=7:15am-3:15pm
Paid Time Off= 100 hrs (12.5 days)

(a) Faculty Position Overview
The Premier Arts Academy teacher serves in a professional capacity as an active member of the school community and as a faculty team member of the school. Working collaboratively within the teaching team, the teacher has the primary responsibility for implementing a curriculum which endorses the school’s educational philosophy. The teacher is responsible for the health and safety of children and preparing and implementing a balanced curriculum which addresses the individual needs of each child enrolled in their classroom or special program.
(b) Classroom Teacher Responsibilities
- Implement an arts-integrated, project-based curriculum which is developmentally and culturally appropriate.
- Participate in School sponsored/required professional development.
- Plan learning objectives and design daily activities to foster children’s physical, cognitive, communication, academic, creative, and social/emotional development that meet all corresponding state standards.
- Collaborate with other teaching partners, Arts Integration Lead Teacher, Arts Staff and/or visiting artists to develop and document arts-integrated curriculum and instruction, as well as evaluate and assess current curricular models and practices and make student learning visible.
- Design daily activities based on children’s individual and collective interests, developmental needs and social relationships.
- Provide a classroom climate which cultivates self-direction and cooperative learning, promoting self esteem, creativity and a sense of community responsibility.
- Taking attendance every day and submitting it to office by the required time
- Meets all school deadlines
- Posting updates, assignments and general news on Edlio page.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, families,and students.
- Provide direction and support to classroom volunteers and teaching assistants.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow professionally and actively participate in the self -assessment process.
OTHER PROFESSIONAL DUTIES
Employees are responsible for attending and participating in certain activities that may be scheduled outside of the defined working hours as follows:
- Back to School Night (one per school year)
- Community Expo Nights (one per quarter)
- Parent Teacher Conferences (1 per semester)
- All School Musical (1 per year)
And the following meetings, for which every effort will be made, given participant schedules, to
conduct during the work day:
- Individual Education Plan (IEP) Meetings
- Professional Development Workshops (E-Learning Days and Scheduled Non-student days)
- PLC meetings
- Committee meetings
All other activities outside of working hours are subject to voluntary attendance and participation. Teachers are encouraged to attend Arts Performances and Community Events in which their class participates. All other activities that may fall after the regular work day are subject to voluntary attendance and participation.

(d) Instructional Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional support to students, including one-on-one assistance, small group instruction, and classroom assistance as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and the implementation of lesson plans.
- Help students with tasks such as homework, classwork, and tests.
- Monitor student behavior and assist in maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Assist with student assessments and keep accurate records of student progress.
- Collaborate with teachers and other instructional staff to develop and implement strategies to meet the individual needs of students.
- Attend meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities as required.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and academic needs.

Pay: $17/hour
Job Overview: Premier Arts Academy is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nurse's Assistant (CNA) to join our team on a part-time basis. The CNA will be responsible for providing basic health services to students, assisting with routine care, and supporting the school’s health initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a caring professional who enjoys working with children and supporting a healthy school environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Student Health Support
- Provide basic health care services and first aid to students.
- Monitor student illness or injury and follow established protocols for care and escalation.
- Support students with daily health needs as outlined in care plans.
- Maintain a calm, supportive, and student-centered health office environment.
Medication & Health Assistance
- Assist with medication administration in accordance with school policy, physician orders, and state regulations, under the oversight of the Health Services Coordinator.
- Support students with chronic health needs (e.g., allergies, asthma) following approved care plans.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential health records.
Health Compliance & Documentation
- Assist with tracking immunization records and required health documentation.
- Maintain student health logs and reports as required.
- Support health-related compliance, audits, and reporting as directed by the Health Services Coordinator.
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding routine health matters and follow escalation protocols for more serious concerns.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff regarding student health needs.
- Serve as a health and safety resource for staff as appropriate.
- Assist with attendance tracking
Health & Safety Support
- Respond to student health incidents and follow emergency procedures.
- Assist with implementing emergency action plans and health care plans.
- Support school-wide health, safety, and wellness initiatives.
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the State of Indiana (required).
Experience working with children in a school, pediatric, or community setting preferred. - Knowledge of basic first aid, health monitoring, and confidentiality requirements (HIPAA/FERPA awareness).
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work compassionately and professionally with students, families, and staff.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the school day.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Qualifications:
- Valid Certified Nurse's Assistant (CNA) certification.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
- Previous experience working with children in a healthcare setting is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
