welcome to the premier Arts Academy come on inside for a little store some people wonder about security we have the same security measures that any public school would have for instance we have five entry at all of our doors we have our system where we do background checks on every visit and they wear Badges and we make sure all of our doors are locked and secure at all times this is David from Lifeline were excited to share this building because it allows with lots of opportunities in Partnership including their amazing Crystal program going to first visit one of our kindergarten room I'm on in as you can see the bright colors and flexible seating in this space allows for lots of creative play students in kindergarten learn about Sonic they start to decode words they have opportunities for arts and a gracian they spend a lot of time right here on this carpet to get their bodies moving throughout the day as well as we don't believe Gardner should be sitting at a desk all day feeling in bubbles they should be saying they should be learning how to collaborate learning how to be friends be good citizens of the world that's what kindergartens all about it from your Academy we'll take a quick peek into our second kindergarten room can see that each kid get their own copy and I space to put out sing away lots of literacy and math and science and art happening in this room going to send the gym Max our gym is used for gym class for indoor recess for assemblies and lots of gatherings I was from our whole school when we get all together we have to use it for October so when we're preparing for all School Musical very lucky to have such a beautiful space for our before and after care as well listen to the kitchen where students come get their food for breakfast and lunch everyday were part of the national school lunch program the students who qualify for free and reduced lunch part of that program right here at Premier Arts Academy is our cafeteria and our art room many spaces at Premier Arts Academy are used for Beauty so I'm at lunch time you can find lots of happy kids in here having lunch and then at Art time you will find the lack of paint glue all kinds of things happening in a little bit of an example of what integration can look like even at the kindergarten level so right here we have a display of kindergarten artwork these are little pizzas that they made that have different shape in math class in kindergarten right now they are learning geometry learning their shape and an art class then they reinforced that works by creating art pieces these pieces with specific shapes may even counted how many times they use further reinforcing their counting with Matt so this is a great example of how art and math hand-colored this even as young at that as kindergarten we're going to go into the lobby space now the space is often buzzing with activity especially in the afternoon when students are switching for their different special classes it's really a fun place to hang out when you want to see lots of happy kids going from face to face you have an elevator for Ada accessibility join me in our first grade classroom again in this classroom you're going to see bright colors you're going to see flexible seating kids moved from different places in the room to do independent and group work one of the things that's a Hallmark of our school is small group instruction for every everyday and you'll see that classrooms are set up for that for instance we have a small group Nook over here where students can work with an adult in the classroom on something they're working on either English or math everyday our students have 30 minutes of levels instruction for meeting them right where they're at both in English and math and helping them grow on Phonics skills for their decoding and working on their reading fluency they work on double digit addition and subtraction as well as money and pushing their understanding of geometric Concepts as well in that now join us in one of our middle school classroom Middle School utilizes lots of Technology 12 and their full box so you'll see that we have text cause I'm outside of the room where students can reject their iPads and work on small group work we have a whiteboard tables on the inside of the room where they will work together both large group and smaller group instruction every every student at Marist Academy is a signed up for my iPad for work was in the classroom and during you earning days another Hallmark as we talked about earlier is small group instruction and feeding a middle school Lounge we have also some little breakouts faces off of each of the this room so you can see where kids can work together right now it's decorated for Valentine's Day this is a great space to do small group instruction and work on projects together how to make the middle schoolers feel special that they have areas where they can collaborate in a less formal environment when you get to the middle school level there's a greater emphasis on science as well as challenge space learning and challenge learning is students really working toward solutions to real-world problem in group so they get to pick something that they're interested in and start to do research about what those What are problems that existed roll around a specific topic and then they worked a creative solution that can be acted on here at the local level and this is something that they then present at each of our community expose every quarter so that not only their parents can see but the community come in and see what students are learning at Premier Arts Academy each quarter now we're going to head to our third grade room this room also is a great example Waka Flocka Bill different basis for learning but there's also pods around the side of the room where students can practice their work together they can have a quiet place to read or to calm down if they're having any I know by this regulation and you can see around the side of the room that we do have puppies for every every student as well so they have a place to put all their things come on with me to music Premier Arts Academy students have five different specials every week they have gyms they have Music Theater dance and visual art so students truly are a 1st and the arts teacher at obviously that's our first full theme is Arts integration and so not only do they get those special classes of our but integrated during regular content time as well that is a wave kids are really lean in and get excited about their learning with Arts integration they examined straight their learning through an art form which is a really solid way to cement their knowledge and to show the world what a pain in the neck causing tearing theater room is next to take theater every week and this is where a lot of the magic happens as they're preparing for the all School Musical this year's all School Musical with Wizard of Oz We're Off 100 Kids on the stage at the Lerner Theater Performing an amazing show even our kindergarteners were our munchkins and they were amazing it was so fun and that is a great way that we build Battle Lake Community but litter collaboration skills and how they learn how to be part of something bigger than themselves bias in second grade second grade students start to learn how to work more in the Milly and in small groups in second grade they really start working on their reading fluency and pushing their math skills getting ready for State Testing Bellsprout we're going to head down the hallway 4th grade 4th grade really starts to push multiplication strategies fraction text structures students are really starting to up their knowledge when you get into fourth grade we have a amazing 4th grade team and can't wait to share all of the amazing things that they can do it. Radisson fifth grade students in 5th grade dissipate in something called literature Circle literature circles are wonderful way for kids to learn how to analyze text to dive into a book and see all the important structures but also to do it reading something that they're excited about this is something that usually ends with a call reading activity like creating a book trailer or writing paper things like that thanks for coming on this tour with us feel free to email us or call us the schedule in person sure and check out the website for all the information you need about enrollment have a great day
